About Jazz Club of Sarasota

The Jazz Club of Sarasota, one of the largest and most active jazz clubs in the United States, is dedicated to preserving and promoting jazz, America’s original musical art form. Founded in 1980 by the late Hal Davis, the former publicist for Benny Goodman, the club has approximately 650 members and is growing in membership. The club presents the Sarasota Jazz Festival, one of the major US jazz festivals.

Investing in the Future of Jazz

Every year, the Jazz Club of Sarasota grants scholarships to high school and college students who are serious about studying jazz.

Over the course of 30-plus years, the Jazz Club of Sarasota has granted approximately $200,000 to aspiring young musicians in high school and college.
