About Jazz Club of Sarasota

The Jazz Club of Sarasota is the most active jazz club in the United Sates, with over 80 concerts and lectures each year. Founded in 1980 by the late Hal Davis, the former publicist for Benny Goodman, the club has approximately 650 members and is growing in membership. The club presents the Sarasota Jazz Festival, one of the major US jazz festivals. The club also sponsors the Venice Jazz Festival in Venice Florida.

Investing in the Future of Jazz

Every year, Jazz Club of Sarasota grants five to eight scholarships annually to high school and college students who are serious about studying jazz.

Over the course of 30-plus years, the Jazz Club of Sarasota has granted approximately $200,000 to aspiring young musicians in high school and college.
